Facilitates and participates in multi-disciplinary conferences to plan, implement, and evaluate services designed to promote cognitive, social, and affective development of students.
Offers indirect services designed to assist students through teachers, parents, and other school personnel, including but not limited to, in-service training for teachers, parent education, consultation, and collaboration.
Consults with teachers regarding student interventions.
Screens, observes and/or gathers data on students who have been referred.
Assesses difficulties of referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices.
Administers tests and recommends placement for children eligible for special education.
Acts as a liaison between school and other organizations, e.g., mental health clinics, social services, juvenile courts, private schools, residential care facilities, to promote delivery of comprehensive services to students.
Keeps abreast of new development in field by participating in workshops and conferences that promote continued development of professional skills and knowledge
Maintains compliance with federal/state statutes and district policies/procedures.
Responsible for the inventory control of test and materials.
Attends scheduled staff meetings as required.
Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
